What is the Kling Large Model?

Kling was developed by Kuaishou.Video GenerationThe model’s core task is to convert descriptions of scenes, subjects, and actions into a continuous sequence of video frames. It also serves as the technological foundation for Ke Ling AI’s creative services; the model technology, demonstration effects, and account benefits for online products should be understood separately.

The Technical Foundations of Early Models

When Kuaishou first publicly introduced KeLing in 2024, it revealed the DiT architecture, 3D VAE, and spatiotemporal modeling modules. The 3D VAE is responsible for compressing and reconstructing video in both the temporal and spatial dimensions; spatiotemporal attention jointly processes the spatial details of individual frames and the motion information between consecutive frames. Together, these two components address the challenges of motion changes and visual continuity in video generation.

Text prompts not only describe static appearances but can also detail the progression of motion. For example, describing the environment in which a subject moves provides a more accurate representation of what the video model is intended to convey than simply listing the visual style. The generated output still requires frame-by-frame inspection of characters, objects, and their movements; complex actions and physical interactions are particularly prone to inconsistencies.

The 3.0 SeriesmultimodalRoute

The 3.0 series, released in February 2026, includes Video 3.0, Video 3.0 Omni, Image 3.0, and Image 3.0 Omni. Kuaishou describes it as a model series that unifies multimodal tasks, integrating text-to-video, image-to-video, reference material generation, and in-video editing into a single technical framework; the video models further support native audio output and video generation with a maximum duration of 15 seconds.

Video 3.0 Omni provides multi-camera shot control, allowing users to set the duration, shot type, angle, and camera movement for individual shots. The 3.0 series emphasizes the Multimodal Visual Language (MVL) framework, which represents a different generation from the technology disclosed at launch; therefore, the full implementation of the current model cannot be inferred from descriptions of the earlier architecture.

Model Demos and Creative Applications

The initial release materials showcased video capabilities of up to two minutes in length, 1080p resolution, and 30 fps; these figures were based on technical disclosures at the time and cannot be used to infer the duration, resolution, or pricing for various modes of the online service. Actual content creation can begin fromKe Ling AIProceed and generate based on the selected model and task settings.

Video models are well-suited for exploring storyboards, actions, and visual directions, or for creating footage needed for subsequent editing. Final videos that require precise dialogue, brand details, or a continuous narrative typically also involve footage selection, editing, and audio processing. When using images of real people, brand logos, or protected material, the appropriate permissions must be obtained.
