Having read this book, I think it is masterful. The Big Language Model is good at giving answers that sound like answers, but which are different from real answers.
--Rodney Brooks, world's top AI scholar, giant in robotics, MIT professor, member of the US Academy of Engineering
Knowing the "can" and "can't" of ChatGPT and Big Language Model from the principle, we can accurately grasp the dividends and opportunities of this wave of technology. Stephen Wolfram is undoubtedly the one who is authoritative and professional, but also knows how to express the technical principles vividly. Even the CEO of OpenAI is full of praise.
--Legen, Co-Founder, Editor-in-Chief, Quantum Bits
Wolfram is one of the few smartest people alive today, and one of the most hard-core thinkers, because his perspective on interpreting the world is mathematical and physical. His ideas about the incommensurability of computation set the law of mutual non-destruction for the roles of AIs and humans in a world that will evolve no matter how much it develops from here on out.Wolfram's place in history will likely rival that of Kant. This book rattles off the clouds and speaks to the principles as well as the mysteries at the very bottom of ChatGPT. No one really understands why language models are so powerful, but this book can tell you where they bottom out.
--Wan Weigang, science writer, columnist of "Get" App's "Elite Day Class".
The launch of ChatGPT heralds the unveiling of the curtain on the era of generalized artificial intelligence (AGI), and its powerful capabilities will have a profound impact on product formations in many industries, making an in-depth understanding of it essential. This book presents the technical principles related to ChatGPT from first principles in an easy-to-understand manner and with the author's unique insights. It is believed that readers can have a deeper understanding of ChatGPT after reading this book.

◎ Introduction
ChatGPT, an AI chatbot program developed by OpenAI and launched in November 2022, is capable of automatically generating something that superficially looks like text written by a human, something that is awesome and unexpected. So, how does it do it? And why does it do it? This book will give a broad overview of the internal mechanics of ChatGPT, and then look at why it's so good at generating what we think is meaningful text.
This book is for anyone who wants to learn about ChatGPT.

Stephen Wolfram
A computer science, mathematical and theoretical physicist and one of today's major innovators in science and technology, he created the world's most respected software systems, Mathematica, Wolfram|Alpha and the Wolfram Language. He is the creator of Mathematica, Wolfram|Alpha, and the Wolfram Language, which are highly regarded around the world, and has been the CEO of Wolfram Research, a science and technology company, for over 35 years and is responsible for a number of groundbreaking advances in basic science, including most recently the Wolfram Physics Project. He has been CEO of the technology company Wolfram Research for 35 years and has been responsible for a number of breakthroughs in basic science, including most recently the Wolfram Physics Project. He is the author of the bestselling books A New Kind of Science, This is ChatGPT, Journey of a Computational Explorer, and The Creators.
Professor of Physics, Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Illinois. The "scientific genius" published his first academic paper in particle physics at age 15; at 19, he went to Caltech to study elementary particle physics, earning a PhD in theoretical physics within a year. He then worked with Feynman on metric automata.
Software engineer and business owner, he founded Wolfram Research Software, which developed Mathematica, one of the world's top four mathematical software programs, the release of which marked the beginning of modern scientific and technological computing, and which is the most powerful general-purpose computing system in the world. Wolfram himself was recognized as a "great patron of mankind" for this invention and became a multimillionaire.
In 1981, Wolfram was honored with the MacArthur "Man of Genius" Award and became the youngest recipient ever of the award.
In May 2009, Wolfram released WolframAlpha, a search engine, "the first truly practical artificial intelligence". WolframAlpha can give effective answers to questions, so WolframAlpha was called "Google Killer" soon after its release. He and Steve Jobs are also good friends, such as Apple's cell phone assistant Siri, behind the knowledge base, in fact, WolframAlpha support.
His massive book, the 1,197-page A New Kind of Science, hit the top of Amazon's bestseller list when it was published in 2002.
